During IT Arena 2026, the Ukrainian Startup Fund organized and hosted the WIN2EDIH side event “Guide to Grants,” where it presented a guide to European funding opportunities for Ukrainian startups.
The “Guide to Grants” is an initiative of WIN2EDIH, a digital innovation hub that provides services to Ukrainian SMEs, startups, and the public sector.

Here are the key insights from the guide:
- A successful grant project begins with selecting a relevant opportunity, assessing its compatibility with your company, formulating a realistic idea, and assembling a team.
- A program may seem suitable based on its title or topic, but what matters is whether your project aligns with its goals, requirements, and expected outcomes.
- Transform your idea into a project concept: define the problem, solution, and objectives; back them up with KPIs; and outline the preliminary budget, implementation timeline, and necessary partners.
- The application must be logical, flowing coherently from the description of the problem and objectives to the planned results.
- Build a strong team: every partner should have a clear role and relevant expertise.
- Plan the budget realistically, reflecting the actual scope of work, division of responsibilities, and required resources.
